Sitting in the budget airport in Kuala Lumpur, and there are people going everywhere. A few years ago, no one could do this without arduous efforts and days of time. Time and space are dissolving. Another example of the slow demise of the viability of linear thinking. This is happening both physically and conceptually, so quickly that if you are not thinking of the world as “one place” you are behind the times.
Next to me, two young men flying to Aceh, chatting on, and about, their cellphones. To get to Aceh was a train ride to Penang, a boat to Medan, and then buses on rough country roads, the last time I was there. Phone calls were not easy to place. These kids are getting there in less than two hours, for about the same amount of money. Which takes fewer hours to earn now.
Can you see how reality is changing? How should you think about yourself and your life in the world now?
